The Cabinet Division has warned federal ministries, divisions, and provincial governments and public about the potential security risks associated with Wi-Fi and wireless networks and urged strict precautionary measures to protect sensitive information, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

In a letter circulated to various government departments, Cabinet Division said wireless routers ae less secure devices. It added that network traffic can be easily intercepted through Wi-Fi, posing significant risks to users and organizations. 

Additionally, the letter warned that internet traffic could be diverted to insecure directions via router updates, and directories or files could be unintentionally shared from Wi-Fi networks.

In order to counter these threats, the Cabinet Division recommended several key steps for users. The Cabinet Division has advised that password of the Wi-Fi should be strong, complex passwords can minimize the risk of unauthorized access. Users are advised to turn off guest networks to limit access to trusted devices only. It was suggested that users avoid revealing their Wi-Fi names or IDs to enhance privacy and security.
