The Civil Aviation (CAA) has allowed a Sri Lankan special flight to land at Allama Iqbal International Airport Lahore on May 13 to bring back over 50 stranded Pakistani nationals from Maldives.

The CAA Air Transport Director gave the approval on the request of the Maldives High Commissioner in Pakistan. The special flight will carry back Maldives diplomatic staff in Islamabad.

As per the CAA standard operating procedures (SOPs), no member of the crew would be allowed to come outside the special flight. The decision has been taken to stem the further spread of deadly COVID-19.
