Punjab CTD seeks Rs2.27 billion grant to purchase arms, vehicles

Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) has sought a supplementary grant of Rs2.27 billion from the Punjab government for the purchase of arms and vehicles, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday.
According to CTD request for funds, about 117 new vehicles will be purchased for the department and for the purchase of vehicles Rs860 million is estimated.
Among the vehicles, more than 60 single cabins 4X4 will be purchased for CTD while 1000 cc vehicles will be purchased for the staff.
Moreover, CTD has demanded Rs500 million for the purchase of M250 M4 rifles and estimated purchase of M4 rifle with accessories per person is Rs2 million.
Further, Rs900 million has been sought for the purchase of other modern equipment and modern devices including GSM locator and other devices.
