The US dollar delivered another heavy blow to the Pakistani rupee as it opened for trading in the intra-bank market on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The US dollar went up by Rs1.12 against the Pakistani currency crossing Rs171 mark once again.

The greenback which ended Monday on Rs170.51 shot up to Rs171.63 on Tuesday.

Economic experts were of the view that the rupee seemed under renewed pressure over import payments.

They further opined that the market has also set its sight on the outcome of the negotiations between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
