CTD Malakand kills a militant responsible for two police constables' murders

The Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) of Malakand Friday claimed to have killed a wanted terrorist, Naik Muhammad alias Naiko, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to reports, Naiko was a key figure in the target killing of two constables at People's Chowk in Mingora on June 8, 2023 and was linked to several other serious crimes.
Two police constables Ashraf Ali and Umar Khan, both stationed at Mangora police station, fell victim to a targeted attack while on duty at People's Chowk.
On September 7, 2023, the CTD Malakand Swat received confidential information regarding the whereabouts of Naik Muhammad alias Niko, the son of Muhammad Qayyum. He was believed to be planning subversive activities within the jurisdiction of Bunar police station in Swat district.
In response to this actionable intelligence, the CTD Malakand swiftly mobilized its operational team to apprehend the suspect. Despite warnings to the suspect who sitting in a car, the accused opened fire on the police force. The police party remained unhurt and in retaliated firing, Naiko died on the spot. One hand grenade, a 30-bore loaded pistol, a spare magazine with six cartridges, and a Pakistani identity card were recovered from the body.
A separate case related to this operation was registered at the CTD Malakand police station (reference number 70) under terrorism provisions, and a comprehensive investigation is currently underway.
The body of the slain terrorist was sent to a post-mortem.
