The Trade Mark Tribunal Judge has issued a stay order against the airing of the drama ‘Ishq Na Poochay Zaat’ due to non-payment of a heavy amount of Rs 6.24 crore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The order was granted upon the request of the drama’s producer, Asif Raza Mir.

During the hearing, Asif Raza Mir informed the tribunal that Oriental Entertainment had commissioned him to produce the drama, which comprised 52 episodes, each of 36 minutes.

The full payment of Rs6.24 crore was to be made upon the drama's completion however, the amount has not been received yet.

Asif Raza Mir claimed that the delay in payment has caused him significant financial loss and he requested the tribunal to issue a stay order preventing the company from airing the drama until the payment is received.

The Trade Mark Tribunal has asked Oriental Entertainment to submit a reply by October 8th and postponed the hearing until that date.
