Female SHO injured while trying to enforce lockdown in Karachi

A female police officer, Pirabad SHO Sharafat Khan, was injured as people gathered at a mosque attacked the police who tried to implement the lockdown orders in Karachi on Friday.
The police party had reached the spot in the Pirabad area after the Friday prayers were being offered at the mosque.
The footage shared on social media and TV channels clearly shows the people rushing out of the mosque as the police officer standing there firmly while dealing with the situation.

As the police asked the crowd to disperse, the people started pelting stones at them, resulting in injuries to the SHO who was recently posted as SHO Pirabad.
A judicial magistrate, taking notice of the incident, directed the DIG West and the area SSP to submit a report.
Like the previous week, the Sindh government had again announced a complete lockdown on Friday from 12pm to 3:30pm, banning all kinds of vehicular movement in the province.
Only three to five people associated with the mosques were allowed to offer weekly prayers.
The latest incident was a repeat of the last Friday when a local imam and other mosque committee members were arrested in the Liaquatabad area of Karachi after he instigated the people to attack the policemen who were trying to implement the lockdown order.
The policemen had reached Masjid-e-Aqsa after receiving reports about the huge gathering there. As they tried to convince the imam and the people attending the prayers, he asked the people to attack the policemen.
It could be seen in the footage on 24NewsHD TV channel that a large crowd running after the policemen who later took refuge in a house. However, a heavy police contingent reached the area and arrested the imam as well as four members of the mosque committee.
