Pakistani cueist Muhammad Asif won the SAARC Snooker Championship on Friday.

 The final saw Asif deliver a stellar performance as he defeated his Sri Lankan opponent Thaha Irshath with a flawless 5-0 frame score.

Asif's journey to the championship was marked by consistent dominance, as he remained unbeaten throughout the tournament.

 In the semi-finals, he faced a challenging match against fellow Pakistani player Naseem Akhtar. The encounter, played in a best-of-nine frames format, was a tightly contested affair, but Asif triumphed with a 5-3 frame score to secure his spot in the final.

In the championship match, Asif's precision and composure left his Sri Lankan rival unable to claim a single frame, underscoring the Pakistani cueist's superior form. This victory adds another accolade to Asif's illustrious career and highlights Pakistan's strength in the regional snooker circuit.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has extended heartfelt congratulations to Muhammad Asif for his remarkable victory in the third SAARC Snooker Championship.

In his message, the PM commended Asif for elevating Pakistan's name on the international stage through his performance.

The Prime Minister expressed his best wishes for Asif's future endeavors. He remarked, "The entire nation is proud of you."
