Opposition files privilege motion in NA over police operation at lodges

After police started an operation to clear the parliament lodges, the joint opposition Thursday filed a privilege motion in the National Assembly, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The privilege motion stated that a heavy contingent of police had infiltrated the Parliament Lodges.
It added the members of the national assembly (MNAs) were arrested and tortured, while the doors were broken.
The Interior Minister, IG Islamabad and the city administration were responsible for the situation, read the privilege motion.
The privilege motion further read that “Those responsible for violating the sanctity of the House and members of the Assembly should be held accountable”.
Meanwhile, the joint opposition, all set to file the privilege motion in the parliament, as well.
Privileges were violated when a contingent of police officers and personnel entered Parliament Lodges without permission, read the privilege motion.
The privilege motion said that trying to push and arrest elected members is tantamount to violating privileges.
