Suspending the Balochistan High Court’s (BHC) decision on the appointment of CEO Livestock Dr. Shahid Amin, a three-member bench of the Supreme Court (SC) on Friday admitted the government’s appeal for hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing, Justice Ijazul Ahsan asked how could the BHC interfere in the matters which fell in the jurisdiction of the federal government?
Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Gulzar Ahmed, on the occasion, remarked that there existed SC’s decision which determined the jurisdiction of a high court.
When Kamran Murtaza, a lawyer, said rather nonchalantly that the apex court might have given such a ‘judgement’, CJP Justice Gulzar admonished him and said this was not an appropriate behaviour. “You are not even aware of the decorum of the court,” the CJP said while addressing Kamran who replied that he knew the court’s decorum fully well, and that’s why he always respected the judges. “CJP sab, please don’t get so much annoyed. Don’t direct your anger at me,” the lawyer said, adding that it seemed that the apex court did not want to listen to him.
Justice Ijazul Ahsan told the lawyer that the bench would listen to him once notice was issued to him.
The BHC, in its decision, had ordered appointing Dr. Shahid Amin as the CEO Livestock which the federal government had challenged in the SC.
