280 US nationals leave Karachi in special flight

A special flight carrying 280 US nationals on Friday left Karachi for the USA via Egypt as part of the operations to fly the stranded Americans back to their homes.

Flight No MS 3081 is the second of the three flights arranged by the US government, which are scheduled from Friday to Sunday (April 10 to April 12).

American Counsel General in Karachi was also present at the airport to see off the US nationals. The envoy expressed lauded the Civil Aviation Authority and airport administration over the arrangements.

All the passengers were screened and sanitised before their boarding. The luggage of the foreigners was also disinfected at the airport.  

The US government arranged the three chartered flights to be operated by Egypt Air’s Boeing 787 after Pakistan granted permission following receiving a request.

The US has operated special flights in the recent days to evacuate its diplomats and citizens from Pakistan because of the coronavirus pandemic.
