Actor Agha Ali and his wife Hina Altaf landed in hot waters because of offensive remarks on a local morning show.
During the interview with Nida Yasir, the hostess asked the celebrity couple if Agha had asked something from Hina before tying the knot, to which Hina replied, “Right before our wedding, Agha showed me a picture on his phone and just asked me one thing. He said, ‘If you ever get this fat…”
Agha instantly cut her off and said, “Before our marriage, I only asked for one promise. I said that I don’t want anything else except this one promise.”
He then asked her wife to share the ‘promise. “Please don’t get fat.”

Soon after the one-minute video clip was posted, it took the internet by storm and people started bashing the couple for endorsing and normalizing 'body-shaming.' Some also called them out for showcasing ‘conditional’ love.
However, in a story posted to his Instagram, Agha clarified his statement and said that he asked his wife not to gain unnecessary weight because she is an actress and needs to look fit.
“No producer or director or writer would like to have an overweight heroine,” said Agha.
He added: “She was chubby before and has worked really hard to keep fit. I myself have had a weight loss journey.”
The actor also expressed his anger over the matter and said that has is not a fat-shamer and has never made fun of or ridiculed overweight people. He also said that he will host a live session to discuss the matter.
