Ghazanfar Bilour’s defection to PTI jolts ANP

The Awami National Party (ANP) suffered a blow as loyalist Bilour family was cracked by the defection to PTI of a leading member, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
Former senator Elias Bilour’s son and nephew of former railway minister Haji Ghulam Ahmad Bilour, Ghazanfar Bilour has quit ANP and joined the ruling PTI.
After five decades of affiliation, the defection of a Bilour has the potential to alter the political landscape of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa drastically.
Awami National Party Information Secretary Samar Haroon Bilour said that Ghazanfar Bilour did not have a party post. “Good luck to them,” he added.

It is reported that Ghazanfar Bilour is the political heir of the Bilour family and is the nephew of Bashir Ahmed Bilour and Ghulam Ahmed Bilour. Ghazanfar has also remained head of the Sarhad Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
The joining was announced after Ghazanfar Bilour met with KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan in a meeting that was also attended by Taimur Khan Jhagra and Kamran Bangash.
