PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that the development of Karachi is need of the hour as without the uplift of this mega city, the prosperity of Pakistan is impossible therefore PPP was playing its due from Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto’s time, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Addressing the opening ceremony of first phase of Shahrah-e-Bhutto in Karachi, PPP Chairman said he was pleased to know that Sindh government has completed this project under public and private partnership (PPP). He said public and private partnership idea was floated by Benazir Bhutto in 1993. 

He said Sindh government was fulfilling vision of Shaheed Benazir Bhutto. Bilawal was pleased to told the business men that Sindh government made serval projects under public and private partnership. 

PPP chairman said when Sindh government realized that Centre was reluctant to provide them funds then the provincial government paid attention to the idea of public and private partnership. He said Sindh government’s public and private partnership projects were being acknowledged worldwide. He said public and private partnership is a win win solution for the government and businesses. 

He said government was working on public and private partnership in water, green energy and other sectors. Bilawal said Karachi need infrastructure as population was increasing day by day. He urged Sindh government to find international investors for public private partnerships. 

He said once local investors were satisfied with public and private partnership then global investors will focus on it otherwise it is difficult to woo foreign investors. Bilawal urged the government to focus on water, sanitation and energy projects where public and private partnership is need of the hour. 

Bilawal directed Sindh government to promote green energy and solar energy under private public partnerships. He said PPP does not believe in politics of hate and confrontations and he urged all political parties to support government in public and private partnership projects. He said Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto played marvelous role for the uplift of the city with the construction of Shahe Faisal, Steel Mills, large scale industrialization and jobs. 

Bilawal said Shaheed Benazir Bhutto also continued its fight against dictators for the restoration of public rights. She did great work for the uplift of youth and development of Karachi. During his first term as President Asif Zardari released maximum resources for Karachi. He said businesses community and then Karachi Mayor Mustafa Kamal knew that Zardari played key role for the uplift of businesses. He said with the opening of Shahrah-e-Bhutto, job opportunities will be created and this road will link the people of the area to entire Karachi and Sindh.
