The Jahangir Khan Tareen (JKT) group on Friday accused the government of resorting to political victimization against it, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Talking to the media following the meeting of the group at the residence of Aun Chaudhry in Lahore, the group spokesman Saeed Akbar Nawani said that the shutting down of petrol pumps and transport owned by Punjab Minister Ajmal Cheema in Faisalabad was the case in point.

Punjab ministers Nauman Langrial, Ajmal Cheema, Faisal Hayat, Abdul Hayyee and others attended the meeting.

“Prime Minister Imran Khan’s advisers are giving him wrong advice,” he said.

The spokesman further said that if the name of Pakistan Muslim Quaid (PML-Q) leader and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was proposed for the post of Punjab chief minister (CM), the group would announce its decision following consultations.

Nawani said so far the group had not considered anybody’s name for the position of provincial chief executive.

He also dispelled the impression that Samsam Bukhari and Asif Nakai had ever been part of the Tareen group.
