Senior citizens, special persons to get free travel on Orange Line Train

On the instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi, it has been decided to provide free travel facility to senior citizens and special persons on Orange Line Metro Train, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
“Women and students will be given a discount package in the fare of Orange Line Metro Train. It has been decided in principle to set the fare of Orange Line Metro Train in a stage wise manner,” Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said while chairing a meeting in Lahore.
“An advisory committee has been formed to review the conversion of Orange Line Metro Train to solar energy. Solar systems will be installed at the stations of the Orange Line Metro Train,” he added.
“The first pilot project of electric buses will be started in Lahore. The public will be provided with the best travel facilities in the modern eco-friendly buses,” he announced.
“The matter of outsourcing the contract of Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has been entrusted to an advisory committee,” he stated.
Ex-chairman Planning and Development Salman Ghani, ex-principal secretary to chief minister GM Sikandar, the chief executive officer (CEO) of Daewoo and the senior officers of departments concerned attended the meeting.
