JCP to review appointment of 25 additional judges in LHC on Dec 21

Judicial Commission of Pakistan (JCP) under the chair of Chief Justice of Pakistan Justice Yahya Afridi is set to meet on December 21 for the appointment of additional judges in the Lahore High Court, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to an official notification, Judicial Commission will review the appointment of additional judges on 25 vacant posts in the LHC and overall 41 names will be considered for 25 vacant posts, including two session judges slots.
LHC Chief Justice has proposed 21 names for Additional Judges while Supreme Court of Pakistan’s Justice Syed Mansoor Ali Shah has sent a list of 11 names to the judicial commission. Senator Ali Zafar, a member of Judicial Commission sent a list of 3 names while another JCP member Farooq H Naik proposed 8 names for the judges.
During Judicial Commission meeting, the name of Advocate Muhammad Siddique Awan will be considered for Additional Judge of LHC.
The other names which will be considered include Ch Iqbal Ahmed, Asif Saeed Rana, Ajmal Zahid, Advocate Abdul Basit Baloch, Hasan Nawaz, Aamir Anjum, Miss Shahreen Imran, Advocate Amjad Parvez, Shehzad Mahmood Butt, Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi, Khalid Ibn Aziz, Advocate Jawad Zafar, Khalid Ishaq, Owais Khalid, Advocate Chaudhry Sultan Mehmood, Haris Azmat, Haroon Dogar, Shehryar Tariq, Qaiser Nazir Butt, Akmal Khan.
Jazila Aslam, Haider Rasool, Mahnoor-ul-Islam, Qasim Ali Chauhan, Rafa Zeeshan Javed Altaf, Syed Shahab Qutb, Miss Asma Hamid, Miss Samia Khalid Mehmood, Advocate Saqib Jilani, Qadir Bakhsh, Huma Ejaz, Advocate Malik Javed Iqbal, Haseeb Shakur Pasha, Mujeebur Rahman Kayani, Advocate Shigan Ejaz, Ayan Tariq Bhutto, Nawaz Pirzada and Miss Shaukat Rizvi.
