Govt eyes 1,962 megawatts increase in power generation by June 2025

The federal government has set the target to increase the production of electricity by 1,962 megawatts by June 2025, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.  

As per the budget documents, the government plans to enhance the capacity of power production by 43, 310 megawatts by June next year.  

The documents further show that the country will be able to produce 782 megawatts of electricity from solar energy by June, 2025; 1,845 megawatts from wind energy; 11, 820 megawatts from hydel; 8, 125 megawatts from LNG, while 4, 906 megawatts of electricity from petrol.
