Minister for Climate Change Sherry Rehman on Thursday called for an audit report on the Ten Billion Tree Tsunami Programme (TBTTP), reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Addressing to media in Islamabad, Sherry Rehman said that climate change has become a national security issue for Pakistan.

Sherry Rehman said the heatwave and glacier melting are not uncommon but are environmental disasters.

Sherry warned as the days go by, the heatwave will increase and the glaciers will melt, adding that climate change has become a national security issue for Pakistan.

Sherry Rehman said Pakistan is one of the ten most affected countries in the world, adding that natural disasters are constantly occurring.

Sherry said policies are formulated in Pakistan but not implemented.

Sherry said we need to launch a nationwide public awareness campaign aimed at saving water.

Sherry said the concerned stakeholders will be consulted over the awareness campaign.
