Prime Minister Imran Khan has greeted his team for bringing down sugar price from Rs102 to Rs81 in a month.

"Sugar is being sold at a national average of Rs81 per kg vs Rs102 per kg a month back.  I want to congratulate my team for bringing the sugar prices down through a multi-pronged strategy,” Prime Minister Imran Khan tweeted on Saturday.

Last week, Information Minister Shibli Faraz told the media that the government strived hard to get the economy back on track as the previous government provided room to ‘robbers and mafias’ to go on the rampage. However, he claimed sugar and wheat prices came down.  Had the Sindh government cooperated, wheat prices would have been brought down, he added.
