The third anniversary of ASI Ameen who embraced martyrdom in a suicide bombing at Charing Cross on the Mall in Lahore, was observed with fervor on Thursday.

A simple ceremony was held in Village Bara Mangha where a police contingent led by SHO Kot Nainan Police Riaz Cheema saluted grave of the martyr. The police also laid floral wreathes on grave of the martyr on behalf of Punjab IG Police Shoib Dastgir.

On the occasion, people paid glowing tribute to the Police for the sacrifices rendered in the war of terror.

On February 13, 2017, as many as 17 persons including DIG Capt (r) Syed Ahmed Mubeen and SSP Zahid Mahmood Gondal along with five other policemen embraced martyrdom in suicide bombing at Charing Cross on the Mall in Lahore. The policemen laid their lives in the line of duty. According to the Police Department, more than 1,600 policemen including officers have embraced martyrdom in the war against terrorism across Punjab. “In Lahore alone, 316 police officers and jawans embraced shahadat,” the police department.
