Punjab plans to generate Rs960 billion through addl taxes

Toeing the line which the federal government adopted by introducing sweeping new tax measures in the federal budget 2024-25, the Punjab government has also planned to collect Rs960 billion additional taxes, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to the provincial budget documents, the Punjab Revenue Authority would be set a target to generate Rs300 billion additional taxes, Board of Revenue Rs105 billion and Excise Rs11 billion.

Other additional measures included proposal to enhance stamp duty fee by two to 10 percent which will be a source of Rs4 billion additional income.

There was also a recommendation to impose a five percent entertainment tax.
