CDA Board still intact despite ECP’s order

In complete disregard for the Election Commission of Pakistan’s (ECP) order, Capital Development Authority’s (CDA) Board could not be dissolved as yet, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
When the CDA did not pay heed to the first notice, second notice was issued, but without any results.
Presently, out of total six seats in the Board, three are lying vacant, while the remaining three are occupied by old members.
The officers are not ready to return to their parent departments on account of hefty salaries and perks and privileges that the Authority offers.
Especially member finance, Planning and Development and Admin are using their connections to prolong their stay in the CDA.
Only member Estate Afnan Alam has left following the election commission’s instructions.
So much so that the CDA chairman is in a state of indecision and has failed to take a definite stance on the issue.
On the other hand, member environment’s seat has been lying vacant ever since the former became the Authority chairman.
Similarly, no appointment has been made after the retirement of member engineering.
