Federal cabinet increases number of Privatisation Commission Board members to 11

The federal cabinet approved increasing the number of members of the Privatization Commission Board from 8 to 11 on the recommendation of the Privatization Division.
The cabinet, which met with Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in the chair, issued directives to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply to factories manufacturing fertiliser in Pakistan even after September.
The cabinet directed the department concerned to ensure all kinds of measures to prevent the increase in fertilizer prices.
Agriculture is the backbone of the country, the prime minister said, adding that farmers must be facilitated. Reduction in prices of agricultural inputs should be ensured, he added.
The federal cabinet also approved the decisions Cabinet Committee on Privatization took on August 2.
A comprehensive plan for their privatization should be presented in the next cabinet meeting, the premier stressed.
The cabinet has approved the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Pakistan and the Republic of Guatemala.
It endorsed the signing of a bilateral accord between Pakistan and Ecuador.
The Federal Cabinet also approved the decisions made in the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Legislative Cases.
