Federal cabinet takes up 21-point agenda in today's meeting

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has convened the federal cabinet meeting at 4:00 PM today, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

A 21-point agenda will come under discussion at the meeting to be held at the Prime Minister’s House.

The tariff of eight plants, including JDW, Chiniot Power, Hamza Sugar, Almoiz Industries, Thal Industries and Chanar Energy Limited, producing electricity from the sugarcane waste will be reviewed.  

The cabinet will be briefed about the steps taken by the government to enhance the tax collection. 

The cabinet will also discuss whether to allow federal ministers and secretaries to travel abroad in the Business Class. 

It will also decide the fate of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) Amendment Bill, 2024. 

The meeting will review the cabinet committee report to ensure stability in urea prices in the market. 

The cabinet is also likely to approve the renewal of the memorandums of understanding signed in connection with Pakistan’s chairs abroad. 

Similarly, it is also expected to green-light the establishment of the Islamabad Central Business District Development Authority.

Likewise, Pakistan National Shipping Corporation will be declared the state’s strategic asset.

The reconstitution of the National Price Committee on drugs will also come under discussion at the meeting.
