The Punjab Caretaker government has put on hold the creation of five new districts in the province, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday. 

The caretaker government has left it to the upcoming new cabinet after general elections. The new cabinet will decide on creation of new districts in the province, said sources in provincial cabinet.  

The new districts which were okayed by previous PTI government were: Wazirabad, Kot Addu, Talagang, Murree and Taunsa Sharif.

Murree was to be created from Rawalpindi, Talagang from Chakwal, Wazirabad from Gujranwala and to be added in Gujrat Division, Kot Addu was to be created from Muzaffargarh and Taunsa from Dera Ghazi Khan.
