Attempt to smuggle drugs hidden in sports goods foiled

An Anti-Narcotics Force team on Wednesday thwarted an attempt to smuggle huge quantity of ice from Pakistan to New Zealand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to details, ANF impounded a suspicious parcel from office of a courier company located in Aabpara Market Islamabad and recovered 1 kilo and 20 grams of ice during checking.
The ice was tactfully hidden inside a carom board. The parcel was booked by a resident of Azad Kashmir.
A spokesman of Anti-Narcotics Force expressed concerns over smuggling of narcotics through sports goods.
He further said that ANF authorities are vigilant against different methods used by narcotics smugglers. He vowed to adopt zero tolerance policy against smuggling of narcotics.
The spokesman said that anyone who found involved in smuggling of narcotics will be dealt with iron hands.
