Petrol price hiked by Rs3.47 per litre, diesel by Rs 2.61

The government has announced an increase in the prices of petroleum products for the next fortnight, 24NewsHD TV channel reports.
According to a notification, petrol price has gone up by Rs 3.47 per litre and high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs 2.61 per litre with effect from midnight.
The new petrol price has been set at Rs 256.13 per litre, while the high-speed diesel price will now be Rs 260.95 per litre.
The new rates will take effect from 12:00am tonight, the notification stated.
