The government has decided to continue with the ban on gas schemes for an indefinite period, inviting ire among the ruling party MNAs including Federal Defence Minister Pervez Khattak.
According to the 24NewHD TV channel, Prime Minister Imran Khan endorsed Energy Minister Hamad Azhar’s decision to keep on the ban on domestic gas schemes.
The ban on domestic gas connections will remain in place indefinitely and Pervez Khattak has registered his protest with Prime Minister and Hamad Azhar
The lawmakers have been lashing out at the decision, stating the move will inflict serious political damage.
The authorities don’t have the resources to lay new gas pipelines and the commodity is not fully available for the existing consumers.
