Adnan Siddiqui hits at Priyanka Chopra for labelling Sharmeen Chinoy as ‘South Asian’

Prominent figure of Pakistan showbiz industry Adnan Siddiqui calls out Indian star Priyanka Chopra for referring Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy as ‘South Asian’.

In case if the readers are not aware it is stated that previously ‘Baji Rao Mastani’ celebrated actress Priyanka Chopra had shared an appreciation post for Oscar-winning Pakistani filmmaker Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy over her greatest achievement of becoming the first woman to direct ‘Star War’ films.

In the praising post, Priyanka called her a ‘South Asian’ woman instead of a Pakistani.

Here are Priyanka’s words:

“First person of colour and first woman to direct a Star War film-and she’s South Asian! What a historic moment, Sharmeen. So so proud of you, my friend. May the force be with you.”

Over this deliberate negligence of Priyanka Chopra; Adnan Siddiqui decided to school her. 

The “Ghughi” celebrated actor took to his twitter handle and wrote: “With due respect @priyankachopra, Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is a Pakistani first just to brush up your knowledge. Much like the way you flaunt your Indian nationality whenever you get the opportunity before claiming to be a South Asian.”

It is pertinent to mention here, Pakistani- born Oscar Winner Sharmeen Obaid Chinoy is leaping from the Marvel universe to the Star War galaxy to draw a new film set 15 years after the end of the last movie.
