As many as 46 US congressmen have written a letter to President Joe Biden in which they have demanded implementation on the resolution passed by the House of Representatives on the violation of human rights in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.
It is written in the letter that the Pakistani government first tried to make sure that the country’s most popular party PTI did not contest the general elections held on February 8, 2024. “But despite state atrocities and massive rigging, independent candidates backed by the PTI still managed to win a majority of seats.”
And when, the letter reads, the PTI protested against rigging, all hell broke loose and the rights of the party workers were violated with impunity.
Besides that, congressmen write, the government stopped the release of reports documenting tampering with poll results.
There is, however, no mention of the Kashmir issue in the letter. Neither there is any reference to the incidents of terrorism that take place in Pakistan.
