The prime minister also held a meeting with caretaker Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi.

During the meeting, matters relating to the affairs of Punjab came under discussion.

The prime minister commended the efforts of the Punjab chief minister for bumper cotton crop.

On the other hand, Sindh Chief Minister Maqbool Baqar held a meeting with Punjab Chief Minister Mohsin Naqvi at Punjab House Islamabad.

Both chief ministers discussed necessary steps to maintain cotton prices. It was also decided to approach the federal government to maintain cotton prices.

Both chief ministers agreed that farmers in Sindh and Punjab would be given the proper price of the crop.

On the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said that a request would be to the prime minister for the purchase of cotton.

He urged the farmers of Sindh and Punjab not to sell cotton at lower prices.

“The labour of the farmers will not be wasted. Punjab and Sindh will take necessary measures together,” he added.
