Film actress Sarwat Gillani landed in hot water after her insensitive video about the Lahore motorway rape incident took the internet by storm.
The video in question showcases Gilani and Frieha Altaf making a distasteful joke about the protest held in Karachi - organised by the media fraternity - a day earlier.
After the video went viral on social media platforms, netizens started to criticize the actress.
Responding to the censure, Gilani issued an apology, stating she made an 'honest mistake.'

“My apologies, it was an honest mistake. Making numerous cards and helping organizers with setting up a protest can get very mind boggling. Since a lot of celebrities were busy with work on the first protest’s date we decided to get out a day when most of us were available,” the actress tweeted.
On 14th September, Pakistani stars took to the streets outside Karachi's Press Club, demanding for justice for rape survivors and demanding swift action against the perpetrators of the Lahore-Sialkot motorway gang-rape incident.
Standing at the forefront of these protests outside the Karachi Press Club were popular names such as Mahira Khan, Ayesha Omar, Adnan Siddiqui, Bushra Ansari, Frieha Altaf, Sarah Khan, Sarwat Gillani and Deepak Perwani among others.
