Welcoming the deal struck between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a new loan programme, the United States on Tuesday praised the government of Pakistan for introducing reforms for dealing with the economic challenges confronting the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

During a press briefing in Washington, Spokesperson for the United States Department of State Matthew Miller said that Pakistan was taking steps to stabilize its economy.

However, Miller did not give a precise answer to the question about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aggressive posturing, saying that both India and Pakistan should sort out their issues through negotiations.
