US praises Pakistan for its efforts to stabilize its economy
State Dept spokesman asks India, Pakistan to engage in dialogue

Welcoming the deal struck between Pakistan and the International Monetary Fund (IMF) for a new loan programme, the United States on Tuesday praised the government of Pakistan for introducing reforms for dealing with the economic challenges confronting the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
During a press briefing in Washington, Spokesperson for the United States Department of State Matthew Miller said that Pakistan was taking steps to stabilize its economy.
However, Miller did not give a precise answer to the question about Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s aggressive posturing, saying that both India and Pakistan should sort out their issues through negotiations.
Finance Minister Aurangzeb meets WB, ADB presidents, DFC CEO
On the other hand, Federal Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb on Tuesday met with the presidents of the World Bank (WB) and the Asian Development Bank (ADB).
In his meeting with the WB President Ajay Banga, the finance minister discussed with him matters related to taxation, energy and privatization and briefed him about the SBA programme.
Both agreed on the Country Framework Plan for a period of 10 years.
The WB President assured the minister his complete support for the stabilization of Pakistan’s economy and the government of Pakistan’s digitilization programme.
On the occasion, Aurangzeb invited Banga to visit Pakistan.
In his meeting with the Asian Development Bank (ADB) President Masatsugu Asakawa, further strengthening of partnership between Pakistan and the bank and concessional financing came under discussion.
The minister also held a meeting with Chief Executive Officer of the U.S. International Development Finance Corporation (DFC) Scott Nathan and discussed with him increasing investment in Pakistan.
