NUST holding event on Pak Army’s role in UN peace keeping operations

To commemorate contributions of Pakistan Army in UN peacekeeping operations, a seminar and photo exhibition is being organised by NUST at Centre for International Peace & Stability( CIPS).
UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres will grace the occasion as Chief guest.
The seminar titled “PAKISTAN’s ROLE IN THE UNITED NATIONS PEACEKEEPING OPERATIONS” will focus country’s contributions to the world peace through UN Peacekeeping Operations (UNPKOs), contemporary challenges to peacekeeping, and the need for a paradigm shift to Action for Peace (A4P), which is a special initiative of the Secretary-General.
The Secretary-General in his keynote address will dilate upon future challenges to global peace and the role of the UN in maintaining strategic stability through A4P initiative.
He will also inaugurate photo exhibition: 60 years journey of Pakistan peacekeeping operations and sacrifices for global peace and stability in various UN Peacekeeping Missions since 1960.
Antonio Guterres will also perform groundbreaking of purpose-built Peacekeeping Training Institute for organising courses for regional countries.
