On the call of Federation of All Pakistan Academic Staff Association Sindh, teaching process remained suspended in more than 17 universities of the province on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

According to details, Federation of All Pakistan Universities Academic Staff Association (Fapuasa) sought immediate removal of bureaucrats who were deputed as vice-chancellors of the varsities.

Fapuasa further demanded immediate restoration of ownership of all universities and withdrawal of amendments in universities act, appointment of teachers on permanent basis.

The body demanded that authority to issue NOC for teachers should be rested with vice-chancellors instead of universities and board.

Fapuasa appealed to Higher Education Commission (HEC) to respect universities rights. They also sought 25 percent cut in rebate tax imposed on teachers.
