Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Sunday appointed ex-test cricketer and former senior manager Wahab Riaz as supervisor of the ICC Champions Trophy and head of mentors of the Champions Cup, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.
On the other hand, the management of the PCB is still undecided about accepting or rejecting the resignation tendered by Mohammad Yousaf, a batting coach at the National Cricket Academy (NCA).
Earlier on July 11, 2024, the PCB had removed Wahab Riaz as chief selector of Pakistan’s cricket selection committee.
The decision followed Pakistan’s disappointing performance in the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, where the team failed to progress beyond the group stage.
Wahab had been named the chief selector of the Pakistan men's national team in the aftermath of the ICC Men's Cricket World Cup 2023.
On August 16, 2023, ex-left-arm fast bowler Wahab Riaz announced his retirement from international cricket, bringing an end to a career that spanned over a decade.
Wahab made his international debut in February 2008 against Zimbabwe and went on to represent Pakistan in 27 Tests, 91 ODIs, and 36 T20Is.
He took 83 wickets in five-day format, 120 wickets in ODIs, and 34 wickets in T20Is.
