Zardari pays tribute to Karsaz tragedy victims

While paying tribute to the martyrs of Oct 18, 2007 massacre, Co-Chairman Pakistan People’s Party Asif Ali Zardari has said the sun of democracy has risen after the sacrifice of the lives of scores of PPP Jialas and supporters, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The PPP leader said that martyr Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto fought against extremist and anti-Pakistan forces. 

“Mohtarma is the name of a resistance who fought against the exploiters of people,” he maintained.

Mr Zardari further added that PPP was a party of downtrodden and it’s the champion of all sections of society. He vowed to continue party’s struggle against the class injustices. 

He said that abolition of 18th Amendment was the realization of Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto Shaheed. 

On Oct 18, 2007, the rally of Benazir Bhutto while going to Karachi after leaving Jinnah International Airport was hit by two suicide bomb blasts near Karzas crossing on Main Shahrah-e-Faisal killing 139 people and injuring 450 others. Ms Bhutto came to Pakistan after spending eight years in exile abroad. Though she had survived in the Oct 8 blasts but scores of her workers and supporters lost their lives.
