Pakistan's off-spinner, Sajid Khan, expressed his gratitude and satisfaction over his stellar performance in the ongoing second Test match against England.
Speaking to the media after turning the match slightly in Pakistan’s favor, Sajid remarked, "Thank God, my performance was good today."
Reflecting on his journey, Sajid shared his disappointment over not being selected for the Bangladesh series. “I didn’t get a chance in the Bangladesh series, but now that I’ve been given an opportunity, I made sure to give my best,” he said. Sajid, who took the prized wicket of England’s star batsman Joe Root, expressed his excitement, adding, “Root is a big star, and getting his wicket was a joyful moment for me.”
He expressed hope that the team would quickly wrap up England’s innings on the next day of play. “We will try our best to get England out early tomorrow,” he commented, indicating the team’s strategy for the upcoming day.
Sajid also talked about his time in domestic cricket, explaining that after playing only the final of the Champions Cup, he returned to his departmental team.
Despite not being part of the national side for some time, Sajid maintained his fitness and stayed focused through regular practice.
However, Sajid admitted to being disappointed by a missed run-out opportunity earlier in the match, acknowledging that it was uncharacteristic of his usual fielding standards.
He emphasized that hard work and self-belief have been central to his success. “I’ve been playing cricket from a very young age, and I’ve always relied on my hard work and belief in myself,” he said.
