Punjab raises bar: Matriculation must for Nikkah Khawan

The Punjab department of local bodies declared matriculation mandatory for Nikkah Khawan in the province, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.

Now only matriculated persons will be eligible for the solemnising Islamic nikkah ceremony.

The provincial local bodies department has already forwarded a summary to the Punjab chief minister for approval in this regard.
