Five villages of Attock near Islamabad airport added in Rawalpindi district

The five villages of Attock district near Islamabad airport have been merged in Rawalpindi districts limits after the notification of Punjab Home Department on Saturday, reported 24NwsHDTV channel. 

Earlier, the runway of Islamabad Airport, ASF Colony, Main Terminal Building and an area of 3km were included in the boundaries of Attock. After the notification, the runway, terminal building and residential colony have been added in the limits of Rawalpindi district. 

All of new areas of Islamabad Airport have been put in the limits of Naseerabad police station. Due to the boundaries of Attock and Rawalpindi, residents of these five villages used to face several issues including legal and travel. Pakistan Airports Authority has confirmed that various areas of the airport have been added from Attock to Rawalpindi district.
