Pakistan’s IT exports register 34.9pc growth, says state minister

Minister of State for Information Technology (IT) Shaza Fatima Khawaja has said the country’s IT exports recorded a historic 34.9 percent growth during the first four months of the ongoing year.
From July to October, the IT exports have reached $1.206 billion, the minister said, adding that the exports were $894 million in the same period last fiscal year.
She continued: “In October 2024, IT export shipments increased by $330 million. This upward trend in October 2024 reflected a 38.6% rise compared to October 2023, when exports were valued at $230 million.
Listing the government’s feats, she said the proactive measures to promote the IT sector were underway.
All institutions are working diligently with full support from the SIFC to sustain this momentum and further expand Pakistan’s footprint in the global IT market.
Pakistan’s overall exports reportedly increased significantly by $1.29 billion during the first four months of the fiscal year.
According to the Pakistan Bureau of Statistics, exports increased by 13.55 percent from July to October compared to last year and crossed the $10.88 billion mark.
