After enforcing of Section 144 in the province, the Punjab government on Thursday announced that all educational institutions to remain closed on Friday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.


As per the notification, the schools, colleges, and universities in the province will remain closed tomorrow. It is pertinent to mention here that the Punjab government has enforced Section 144 across the province for two days, effective from Friday, October 18, to Saturday, October 19. According to the notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, all kinds of protests, processions, and public activities have been banned during this period.


Punjab government has imposed Section 144 across the province for two days to ensure law and order after protests call by PTI. According to a notification issued by the Punjab Home Department, there would be a ban on all political gatherings, sit-ins, rallies, demonstrations, protests, and similar activities in the province for next two days ie, Friday and Saturday.


Additionally, activities such as pigeon flying, the use of drones, and laser lights are restricted. The enforcement of Section 144 will remain in effect during October 18-19. This decision was made upon the request of the district administration to maintain law and order and protect lives and property. The government claimed that amid law and order situation, public rallies can be soft target of the terrorists therefore the government has imposed section 144 across the province.
