Pakistan reports first death from monkeypox

The Islamabad health authorities have confirmed the first death from monkeypox, an infectious viral disease, in Pakistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
A 40-year old man, who had recently arrived in Pakistan from Saudi Arabia and was also suffering from AIDS, breathed his last at PIMS Hospital on Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been under treatment at the hospital for the last one-and-a-half month for monkeypox and AIDS.
According to the officials, the World Health Organisation (WHO) had also provided an experimental medicine to Pakistan for the treatment of monkeypox disease.
