Pervaiz blasts govt for ‘crushing journalism’ instead of corona

PML-N leader Senator Pervaiz Rashid on Thursday blasted the PTI government, saying it was crushing politics and journalism instead of coronavirus.

Pandemic was a natural outcome when the governments start crushing politics and journalism, he remarked.

Pervaiz said the coronavirus had spread from Karachi to Khyber, adding that the government had failed in fulfilling its responsibilities and didn’t even know that coronavirus had engulfed the entire world as pandemic.

Talking to media outside Camp Jail in Lahore, Pervaiz, expressing his concerns, said Pakistan still neither had the coronavirus testing service nor the facilities to quarantine its patients.

He said Prime Minister Imran Khan addressed the nation two months after the appearance of coronavirus which had spread its tentacles by the time the speech was delivered.

Pervaiz, who is considered a close aide of party supremo Nawaz Sharif, said Imran also had no idea about what was happening at the Taftan border.

The government had miserably in tackling the coronavirus and inflation, he noted.
