The Supreme Court has rejected an application for recounting in PB-14 in Balochistan, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

Pronouncing the decision, a three-judge apex court bench led by Chief Justice Qazi Faez Isa retained the victory of PML-N’s Mahmood Khan and rejected PPP leader Ghulam Rasool’s application for recounting.

Justice Qazi Isa remarked “Even if the presiding officer is your ‘staunch enemy’ the voters make the decision.”

He further said form 45 carries no weight in face of votes.

Ghulam Rasool had called for a recount of votes at seven out of the 96 polling stations, alleging discrepancies in the results. However, Justice Qazi Isa and Justice Naeem firmly dismissed the allegations, citing lack of evidence.
