The Punjab Assembly witnessed rumpus on Monday as the opposition members staged protests and raised slogans against the government during the legislative process.
The opposition started raising anti-government slogans as the treasure presented the draft laws.
The opposition members stood on seats, beat desks, and chanted ‘oooh oooh’ slogans.
The protesting lawmakers raided the demand for the release of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan.
Senior Minister Maryam Aurangzeb and Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman presented the bills.
Though the opposition pointed to the lack of quorum, the assembly proceedings went on, pushing through the legislative agenda.
Later, the opposition lawmakers staged a walkout.
According to opposition leader Malik Ahmed Khan Bhachar, the session did not adhere to the quorum requirements.
Rana Aftab Ahmed alleged that passing bills without quorum was illegal.
Several bills related to dispute resolution, curriculum, technical education, WASA, Defense Housing Authority, overseas Pakistanis, universities, wildlife and kite-flying ban were adopted.
