Pakistan, Azerbaijan discuss ways to build land routes

Federal Communications Minister Maulana Asad Mehmood met with Azerbaijan Transport Minister Rashad Nabiyev and consulted about the improvement of bilateral trade, the building of land routes and promoting relations between the public, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The Azerbaijan delegation assured that if Pakistan builds a road to Iran, they will fully support in financial and technical terms. The Transport Minister of Azerbaijan said that the cooperative building of roads and transport between both countries is a guarantee of economic development across the region. He also said that Azerbaijan holds significance for Pakistan as a Transit route.
Maulana Asad Mehmood said that Pakistan is ready to provide all the assistance needed for the improvement of business and the establishment of road transport between both countries. He said that Pakistan and Azerbaijan have the same agenda regarding trade and commerce and the traditional and commercial relations between them can be improved by building national highways and promoting land links.
The JUI leader said that Pakistan wants to improve and stabilize the economy of various countries in the region including Iran, Azerbaijan and Russia by spreading the land links to Eastern Europe.
A task force to keep check and regulate the agreements between both countries was also formed in the meeting.
