The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee is scheduled to meet on Wednesday (March 22, 2023) for sighting the Ramazan moon, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
The weather department has said there are strong chances of a Ramadan moon sighting on March 22, (29 Shaban 1444). 
The weather department has predicted that the Ramadan moon’s birth will take place on March 21 at 10:23 PM. 
It has further said that in the event of the holy month of Ramadan of the complete 30 days, then it will conclude on April 21 (Friday) and Eid-ul-Fitr will be celebrated on Saturday, April 22, 2023. 
Sources in the Ministry of Religious Affairs disclosed that there were chances that the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee’s meeting would be held in Islamabad under the chairmanship of Chairman Maulana Abdul Khabeer Azad.
Besides that, there will also be meetings of Zonal Ruet-e-Hilal Committees across the country.  
And, the main committee will decide on the sighting of the moon in the light of eyewitness accounts from across the country. 
On the other hand, Ministry of Religious Affairs Secretary Aftab Akbar Durrani has expressed the hope that this time there will be no controversy over Ramazan and Eid-ul-Fitr moon sighting in the country, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
He has said that Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee always takes all four provinces along. “The committee does not believe in demeaning anybody,” he has said, adding, “In this connection, there are standard operating procedures.”
