Renowned Punjabi actor and singer Sunanda Sharma made her debut at the illustrious 77th Cannes Film Festival 2024, showcasing the vibrant culture of Punjab. She wore a traditional suit with a dupatta, embracing her Punjabi identity like a queen.
At Cannes, considered the biggest star-studded affair in the world, where film industry’s luminaries, including Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, made an appearance wearing extravagant gowns and flashy western outfits, Sharma made heads turn in an elegant ivory suit.

Her outfit, an all-ivory chanderi ensemble, consisted of a heavily layered but plain kameez with full sleeves, a dupatta with intricate embroidery at the borders, which she draped across the body and a dhoti salwaar. She completed the look with a maang tikka on forehead and a nose ring.
The singer’s appearance was a celebration of Punjabi tradition, captivating the international audience at Cannes.
In a heartfelt statement, Sunanda expressed her pride and joy in representing Punjabi culture on such a prestigious platform.

It is pertinent to mention here that Sunanda Sharma’s journey in the entertainment industry began with her debut song 'Billi Akh', which quickly made her a household name in Punjab. Her foray into acting came in 2018 with the film 'Sajjan Singh Rangroot', where she starred alongside notable actors Diljit Dosanjh and Yograj Singh. This film showcased her versatility and marked her transition from a singer to an accomplished actress.
Her entry into Bollywood was marked by the energetic track 'Tere Naal Nachna', which firmly established her presence in the music industry. She followed this with popular songs like 'Poster Lagwa Do' from the film 'Luka Chuppi', featuring Kartik Aaryan, and 'Mummy Nu Pasand' from 'Jai Mummy Di'.
